Keep going

Someone posted this quote on Facebook today. It made me smile. It spurred me on. I held my head up higher because of it. So I thought I would share it with you in case anyone else needed to hear it.

So many of us are struggling at the moment, in different ways and for different reasons. I see it on Facebook and Twitter. I see it in real life. There just seems to be a lot of frustration and uncertainty in the air. It may be that your job is really frustrating you at the moment. Perhaps you keep looking for work but there’s nothing out there. Maybe you are waiting, always waiting, for other people to reply, for feedback, for investment or even just to say that small but priceless word ‘yes’. It could be that you are trying to start again or to reinvent yourself. Do those bills keep coming in and all you want to throw your hands up in the air and scream? It could simply be one of those days, where nothing goes right and you just want to go back to bed and start the day all over again.

Something keeps us going, keeps us smiling (albeit through tears of frustration). Something helps us see the good in every single day. Maybe that something is a voice at the end of the phone, letting you know that they are there and they love you. Sometimes it’s a text or a smile as you walk down the street, helping you see that everything will be alright in the end. You just have to keep going. For me, it’s a hug at the start of the day and one little word. “Mama.” Every morning that’s how I’m greeted and it lifts me up. I won’t give up. Ever. And I hope you won’t too.
